ACSM Annual Meeting Blood Drive

Tuesday, May 29 from 12:00-8:00 p.m.

Ernest N. Morial Convention Center

New Orleans, Louisiana

Sponsored by the Southeast ACSM Regional Chapter

 
Annual Meeting Attendees-

All attendees are invited to participate.  Appointments may be scheduled in advance to guarantee participation, or attendees may simply show up on-site.  Those attendees wanting to donate should visit the Blood Drive table near the ACSM Registration area on the day of the event.  Each donor receives:

·        Complimentary t-shirt

·        Free cholesterol testing  (Results from the cholesterol test will be mailed to you after the meeting)

ACSM Regional Chapter Competition-

Members of ACSM’s 12 Regional Chapters are encouraged to participate in the Chapter Donor Competition. The chapter with the most individual donors will receive $300 to help fund student scholarships or research awards.

Newly Formed Inclusive Fitness Coalition Issues Call to Action-

The Inclusive Fitness Coalition (IFC) advocates for closing a gap that creates higher health care costs and denies millions the opportunity to lead active, healthy lives.  Comprised of researchers, advocates, representatives of the fitness industry, elected and appointed officials, and others, the IFC issued a "Call to Action" outlining the problem and proposing solutions that would increase opportunities for physical activity for 50 million Americans with physical and cognitive disabilities.
