MARC Awards

The ACSM Mid-Atlantic Regional Chapter is pleased to announce the availability of four awards for student researchers. MARC Graduate Student Investigator Award ($300)

The purpose of this award is to recognize and support graduate student investigative research. The winner receives a plaque and $300 to be used to defray either travel costs to the National ACSM meeting or her/his research expenses. All graduate students who submit an abstract for a Free Communications/Slide presentation at the MARC Regional Chapter Meeting will be eligible for this award. MARC Undergraduate Student Investigator Award

The purpose of this award is to recognize and support undergraduate student investigative research. The winner receives a plaque.  All undergraduate students who submit an abstract for a Free Communications/Slide presentation at the MARC Regional Chapter Meeting will be eligible for this award. MARC President's Award ($500)

The purpose of this award is to recognize outstanding doctoral students in Exercise and Sports Medicine within the Mid-Atlantic Region.  The winner receives $500 plus a plaque.  The student's academic advisor or associated faculty member must nominate the student for this award and provide a written recommendation. A copy of the student’s Curriculum Vitae must accompany this letter of recommendation.  Please Note: Applicants for the MARC President’s Award should provide the sponsor with his/her curriculum vitae, who should then submit the letter of recommendation together with the curriculum vitae to Dr. Craig Stevens at the address above. MARC Student Research Grant Award ($500)

The purpose of this award is to recognize and support student investigative research.  The winner receives $500 plus a plaque.  This award may be used to support research work for Master's Degree Theses or Doctoral Dissertations, but cannot be used for indirect costs or travel to professional meetings. The awardee is encouraged to present the findings from the research project at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Chapter Annual Meeting within one year of receiving the award.  Guidelines for the MARC Student Research Grant Award can be found by double-clicking on this link.
